Winner of the Bruidsfoto Award 2012 – Emotions category, people’s choice award.

Last night, my photograph was awarded with the prestigious Bruidsfoto Award in the Emotions category.

I’m humbled and very happy with the public’s award for the best wedding image in the emotions category. This was a category with 10 amazing and very powerful images. Each and every one telling a story in one shot.

A huge thanks to all of the lovely people who cast their vote for my image! I am truly touched by your support.

Here are a few impressions from last night as well as the winning image.

With gratitude,

Tanja

Dance

My girls will dance whenever they get a chance.
Commanding their faithful audience (that’s us!) to watch closely as they twirl around in their little tutus.

So dance… my girls.

Be carefree and enjoy!

Love,

mama.

Emma’s communion

My friend Els and I go way back… we were once in the same class. She found love early and soon had two beautiful girls.  I had the privilege of shooting her girl Giulia two years ago, and now it was her Emma’s turn.

Emma always hated to have her picture taken… until that day.

Els, thank you for having me as your photographer… maybe one day you will let me photograph you together with your fabulous girls!

Much love, De communieshoot van Emma voor haar plechtige communie.

When did you turn 6?

This is a hard one to write. Why, I’m not sure.

Emma is our second child.  I cannot explain how wonderful it was to know that we were having a girl after an amazing little boy.  Emma came into our lives and made everything pink!

Emma Louise is such an amazing little girl. She’s our little thinker. The girl who communicates with butterflies and God and comes up with the most amazing storylines for Ken and Barbie’s life.  Being gifted never comes without baggage. And her sensitivity is something we’ve learned to help her with. Being able to talk about her feelings has been a huge outlet for her.

This little girl is growing up so fast – almost too fast. Maybe that’s why it has taken me forever to write this post. I get so emotional when I see time slipping away and my children growing up. Each new year is celebrated, but a part of me just wants to rewind and cuddle my babies just once more.  I wish I could.

I’m sharing a few shots of my Em – who never seizes to amaze me.

Kids in Trees

If I told you these were taken in November you probably wouldn’t believe it. We lucked out on the weather for sure.  I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family a number of times now, and every time is a pleasure. You may remember mom and dad’s stolen moments.

So here’s one for the 4 lovelies.

xoxo

Baby it’s cold outside

Some of you may remember Wendy and Kris from the gorgeous destination wedding in Italy back in May. They contacted me for a wintery shoot with their two little girls. It’s always a joy to photograph this family.

And so it was on a cold and early December morning that we met for an outdoors shoot.  This winter hadn’t given us any snow so far, so we chose a white palette to add a wintery feel to the shoot. Early morning may very well be my favorite time of the day.  I absolutely loved the warm and gorgeous light we got that morning. Within just 50 minutes we wrapped up an amazing series of beautiful images.

Much love,

T

The Christmas Shoot

This year I was going to do it differently. I was going to plan this waaaaay ahead of time and avoid stress.

But then time went warp speed on me…. again.

I’m sharing one of the shots from our little Christmas shoot yesterday.More to come – later.

Enjoy 2 of my babes.

Pauline

I adore babies. And I love working with first time parents. Welcoming a baby into your life is rewarding and daunting at the same time. Forget all the things you thought you knew as soon as the little person arrives!

When two become three, life seems to shift into high gear and time goes by to fast. I love capturing the moments between a couple and their first baby, and give them the images to cherish for life.

At 10 months baby adorable baby Pauline was a dream. She was totally into it!

I’m sharing some of the images from her session with her lovely mom and dad.

Happy Birthday Lisa!

She was our little surpise. Today is exactly four years since she was born at home, straight into our home, our heart, our lives ! Our little bundle of joy!

Lisa is funny, passionate, LOUD, talented and intelligent!  I see so much of myself in her. I love her with all my heart! I could never imagine life without you our sweet Lisa Amalia! She blows me away every day.

Lisa loves her binky and blanky… And I love how she plays with her hair when she gets tired.

We love you Lisa. Happy 4th birthday, baby! Please keep surprising us.

xoxo

And here’s our little song… I improvised my own lyrics when you were born: “Lisa, Lisa, Lisa – Du må ikke gråte… ”

LOVE inspired

It’s finally here! The very first edition of my little magazine LOVE inspired! I had been playing around with this idea ever since the beginning of this year. It just took a while to make it all come together.

And now, without further ado, I present the brand new LOVE inspired.

Two Sisters

Our neighbours have two sweet granddaughters. And I got to shoot them last week. These girls were very shy to begin with, but they soon warmed up to my lens – and me.

Enjoy the images!

Loveshoot in the dunes

The weather was so beautiful that day.  Awesome luck… but it also meant a beached packed with people.

So I opted to shoot Claire and Koen in the dunes instead of the beach… Claire and Koen adopted twin boys in January. These two gorgeous babies joined mom and dad for their shoot!

Dear Claire and Koen, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding next month!

See you soon, T

A smile on my face

When Sandra booked me I was totally happy! Her son Yves is in my son’s class and is doing his first communion. For this occasion, they wanted some images of him and his little sister Manon.  Since I know these kids, they were very relaxed in front of the camera. No shying away here… The kids played and did their thing, while I got to capture the moments.  I ‘m so happy with all the awesome spots we have around here – these were taken a short drive from where we live.

A big thanks to Sandra for being amazing about meeting so late in the evening on a school night!  You guys are a true joy to photograph! Not only are you a stunning family, you were fun and great to be with!

Much love, T

To the Beach!

It was the first day of the Easter break here in Belgium.  The weather was chilly but sunny. I headed to the dutch North Sea coast to shoot this wonderful family. Over the past two years I’ve had the privilege of photographing these three wonderful kids!

Hope you enjoy the shots we got!

Fondly, T

Destination Norway

It’s where I recharge my batteries and regroup my thoughts.   Norway is where the heart is.

I love what I do and love doing it in different countries meeting new people.  That is why this year I hope to do some sessions and maybe even a wedding in Norway during the month of July.  So… if you’re interested, or know anyone who is, spread the word and contact me!

I’m excited about this! Hope you are too!

Oh and I’m excited about corona strawberries too… they are a very important part of our summer! Sorry belgian strawberries. Yes you are early, but there’s nothing on like norwegian corona’s – so sorry.

Much love,

T

The girl next door

I was delighted to shoot her the ‘girl next door’.

Helen is our neighbour.  Not only is she beautiful on the outside, she is a true and genuinly good girl.  I love talking with her about stuff, school, friends and the things that go on in a twelve-year-old girl’s life….  She patiently plays with our girls, indulging their wishes and silly role-playing games.

So it was more than a pleasure to portrait this very special young lady for her special occasion.

Much love,
T
